Katrina Larida grew up in the Philippines. At an early age she found a keen interest in drawing and painting. At 16, she developed her artistic abilities after meeting a group of artists in Iloilo City, Philippines and then started her training as an artist where she spent all of her Saturdays at the mall to sketch live portraits of people between the years 2011-2015. This training turned into developing her style and interest towards using people's faces as the subject of her paintings.
Since pursuing art as a profession was not a practical career in the Philippines, she pursued a career in business development instead. She garnered a degree in Business Administration major in Marketing at the University of the Philippines. A few years after graduation, she immigrated to Stockholm, Sweden where she worked for seven years as an analyst to a couple of multinational companies.
In 2016, Katrina wanted to continue doing art and decided to take a break from her profession. She was accepted at Parsons School of Design in New York to study an associate´s degree in Fashion Design. At Parsons, her artistic process skills and design were refined. She also fell in love with her Color Theory course and applied what she learned into her paintings and fashion design. Some of her favorite artists like Josef Albers, Donald Judd and George Seurat have influenced Katrina in some of her recent works. In 2017, she she won a sneaker´s design competition that was hosted by ROOY. She also did an internship at Reese Witherspoon´s brand Draper James in Manhattan, New York.
In 2018, she moved back to Sweden and worked at Naim Josefi as design assistant. She assisted the designer in developing his SS2019 and AW2019 collections.
